The Portal at Splitrock Farm & Retreat Nestled beside the iconic Split Rock and a seasonal creek, The Portal is a peaceful, off-grid glamping escape set on 101 scenic acres. Your spacious canvas wall tent features a cozy queen bed and overlooks sweeping views of the Pacific horizon, Big Bear, and miles of private walking and biking trails — including our signature Splitrock 5K loop. Just 3 miles away, the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve offers even more adventure. As one of Southern California’s last free-flowing wild rivers — and voted the #1 trail in San Diego County — this protected area is home to golden beavers, native wildlife, and the southernmost population of steelhead trout. Inside The Portal, you’ll enjoy: Queen bed with soft linens and plush pillows Loveseat & blanket for reading, resting, or taking in the views Full-length mirror for getting ready Rustic coffee station with storage and a French press (bring your own coffee/grounds) Solar-powered ambient lighting Clothes rack with hangers Fresh towels on a dedicated shelf Please note: The Portal is fully off-grid and does not include standard electrical outlets. Solar lighting is provided, and guests are encouraged to bring portable chargers. Device charging is also available in the communal area. Each glamping unit includes its own private fire pit. Step outside to your private deck with a bistro table and chairs — the perfect spot for sunrise coffee or stargazing at night. At the Oak Grove Communal Area, you'll find fire pits, outdoor games, and a shared kitchen space. The Camp Shop, located in the Oak Grove shipping container and open on weekends, is stocked with essentials like firewood, snacks, and bug spray. Whether you’re exploring nearby trails, unwinding beneath the oaks, or visiting local gems like the Santa Rosa Plateau or Temecula wine country, Splitrock Farm & Retreat offers the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
