Come and enjoy a fully restored 1800's home in Meriden. Better and cheaper than local hotels! 2 Bedrooms for use, one on first floor and one on second floor. There is only AC on 1st floor. Large patio and grill during the warm months. Easy access to Hartford or New Haven, seeing I am right off the highway. Go on a fall foliage hike. Pick apples at some of the big orchards. Take a CT Wine Trails tour. (plenty of info and some vineyards within 10min.from here!) Please read everything before booking! The entrance does have a digital lock. I will set up a 4-digit number for you with instructions when you book a reservation. Nice bedroom on the first floor with a Queen Bed, perfect for a couple. There is AC in this room. Another bedroom upstairs with a double bed and a Full day bed if you are traveling with children and want to get a little separation! There is NO AC in this room, only a large fan. Some people are commenting that my home is smaller than "expected". My house was built in the 1800s. They did not make big rooms / open floor plans that everyone is accustomed to and see on TV today. Both Bedrooms are 10' x 13'. My kitchen was built before indoor plumbing and bathrooms, thus, when that was invented, they put bathrooms in a corner of the kitchens. I love my home and painstakingly restored it after it was abandoned for 20 years. I hope when you visit, that you enjoy my home as much as I do. There are plenty of Streaming Channels, Local TV, and movies in the downstairs living room. There is also a PS3 for the kids who want to play video games! There is another living room upstairs, with a couple of fish aquariums and another big TV. The living room downstairs also has a very nice massage chair to take away your travel stress! Both Bedrooms have TVs for watching local and streaming channels. Have a bunch of kids? Camping in the backyard with notice so I can set it up. Give them a fun experience outside! Plenty of on-street parking in front of the house for more than one. One car will fit in the driveway. Large backyard patio, fire pit, horseshoe pits, and small vineyard down back. Patio has a fully wired sound system, which is perfect for small parties. Sit by the fire at night with a glass of wine if you prefer! I do restore clocks, and I shut them off before any guests arrive. I will host guests that would like to have a small function. (Reunion, reception etc. ) Please send a request and we can chat about what is available. There are outdoor cameras located out front and one out back for security. If you need to see the locations, just ask and I will show them to you. Bedrooms, Bathroom, Kitchen, Dining room, Living room, Laundry Room, and Outdoor spaces. Feel free to use the kitchen. Two grills outdoors and a big patio once it gets warm out! Music outside, horseshoes, bikes on request, so much to do! There is a private bedroom/bath upstairs that the owner uses. Both doors have Private signs. Usually home on weekends and evenings after 5. Check in after 5 on weekdays. Check-in can be a little early on the weekends. If you are an outdoors person, I can recommend many places to hike, kayak, etc., or plan trips with you! Also, don't mind recommending places to eat, and I do provide a small breakfast bar with fresh bagels and a Keurig machine with a selection of coffees and teas. I also offer a few more things, such as a wine bar and beer in the fridge if I stock up. I live on the premises and share the space with you. Very quiet non busy street. Close to shopping, restaurants and outdoor activities. Close to 91, 691, and the Merritt Parkway. Bus is close by. Taxis are in the area. A bunch of Uber drivers in the area as well. Car rental in town, but most people rent a car at the airport if they fly in. There is a Amtrak station nearby as well, but the schedule is not great. I will pick up people at the New Haven train station or from Bradley for a small gas fee. Only good for one or two travelers seeing I don't have a big car or van! Lots of local restaurants and shopping. Easy access to Route 91 for trips to the New Haven or Hartford area (both about 20 minutes away), Wesleyan is about 15 minutes away, and Yale is about 20 minutes away for those wanting to come in to visit their students!
